Office 2007 style menus in VB.net 2008

By branty1970 ·
I'm trying to update an existing application using VB.net 2008. So far everything is going great but part of the update is to make the application look smarter. I'd really like to make it use a ribbon style menu as in Office 2007.

Searching the web throws up a few options but they all cost $100+ and as we're a school we just don't have the money to spend. Does anyone know of a way I can achieve the office 2007 ribbon menu effect for much less (or preferably even for free)?

My only alternative at the moment is to create loads of picture boxes and write some code to achieve the effect. I can do it this way but it seems like a lot of effort when it's been done already by someone else.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Martin.
