Office ’97

I have three servers in three regional locations . Each server has Exchange 5.5. Last week a user sent an e-mail with a Word attachment (35KB). The majority of the regions were able to open the document however, 5 of my users were unable to open the document. The machines were rebooted and still the document would not open. Nor could the document be cut and pasted on the desktop.

The user that sent the e-mail is running Windows 98 with Office ’97. The user’s that had the issues are also running the same (I must however note that other users with the similiar software were able to open the document fine).

Any thoughts what this might be and how to go about fixing it?
