Try installing both of them at different locations on your disk, then get into their installed directories to find the winword.exe etc and access them. If you can open Word of both versions like this, u can simply create shortcuts as per us needs.
Cheers.

You MUST install Office 97 FIRST. Choose the defaults if you so desire or do a custom install and install all the 97 functions that you want the workstation to have. I prefer to reboot at this point but it's not necessary. Next Do a CUSTOM install of Office 2000 and change it's installation directory to another location i.e. C:\OFF2000 when prompted about replacing or uninstalling the Office 97 apps choose the option to keep. You now should be able to run either of the office applications (except for Outlook which if choosen to install on 2000 will probably update the Outlook 97 - which is something that I always did anyway.)

Just a few rules to remember.

1. Install the earliest versions first, then in order up to the latest version.

2. Rename the files installed except the last version installed.

3. If dual booting OS's on the same machine, each program's software must be installed to each drive volume (partition) in the same order as in #1 above. EG; Install Off97 to volume 1 (Win98SE), then to volume 2 (Win XP), then install Off2000 to volume 1 , then volume 2, etc.

I actually have 5 different Office programs installed on each 2 different volumes of a dual boot machine. I don't use all the programs all the time, but they have all been used @ some point in time, and all work perfectly when opened.

The above 3 rules are all that really are necessary to remember to make sure to do for perfect installs of multiple Office on the same machine.
