I am having a problem with excel, both 97 and 2k…
Whenever I set up a default file location to a netowork directory or path, the ‘Open File’ box never opens. No error message, just nothing happens. I have tried the network path, (ie \\myserver\users\john) and through the network drive (k:\john). Neither will work.
I believe this is connected to my Word problem (again 97 and 2k). When I have a short cut on my users desktop, and they run Word from there, inevitable, problems arise. Specifically, the user gets ‘not enough memory’ to save the file. This is also a program that I have defaulting to a network directory.
Note, I have tried with my own account to do this, and I am an administrator, with all access to everything. It doesn’t appear to be a rights issue.
I know this is minor, and I would work around it for myself, but end losers have other ideas…yay!
