Office 97, Word 97 on Windows 95

I have a user, A director who knows all about office 97:) and she told me that word was not working right! Well when I got there all you could see in word was the the document screen, no menu bar at the top, no other part of the screen except the brows button at the lower right. I ran through all the key combinations and through the 21 page list that you can print out from the macros listing. I compleatly removed word and all the dll and extras. And reinstalled, no go. help!
