My office Icons disappeared recently. Only the Word, Excel, PowerPoint Icons. Outlook is still normal. What I have is an icon like you would get if the file had no association with a program. When I click on the icons it opens the office doc or program normally so the association is still good. I tried deleting ShellIconCache already in XP and the folder doesn't exist. How do I recover those icons? Thx.. Rob

that's a good one. did you try booting into safe mode, shutting down normally then rebooting? also, you could experiment with making a restore point then restoring to earlier. i think this registry not corrupt files but i am just guessing. what version office? did you see if you have repair offered when you select Add Remove programs/Microsoft Office/Change/remove?
I already tried properties and change icon and it doesn't work unfortunately. I think the repair function of the office installer might be the way to go here. Rob
