Office XP Track changes

By Aratheff ·
I just converted our office to Office Xp from office 97 and 2000. We are required to track changes in some of our documents needing to be able to see what was changed at to what. When we make the changes in Office XP now some of the systems do notshow the striketrough for the modified text and some do. What do I need to do to be able to see this on all our systems?

Office XP Track changes

There are a couple of ways to show the markup, and it may be that the view is different in these systems. I track changes on documents, as well, and I've found that keeping the Reviewing toolbar on screen is the easiest way to keep tabs on stuff.
Go to View->Toolbars and check the Reviewing toolbar. There is a drop-down box on the left of the Reviewing toolbar that shows you what state you're currently viewing. If it says "Final", you will not see the changes you made outlined - you will only see the final document. Change that to Original Showing Markup and the lines (for strikeout) should show up. Final Showing Markup will show you the final document with bubbles off to the side showing what/where the changes were (instead of showing the changes in the document itself). Original just shows you what you had before.

Hope that helps!
