Office2000 SR-1 administrative upgrade

By sunir.dudhia ·
Has anyone applied the SR-1 update on a exisiting administrative share that is on the server. So that workstations can be upgraded from a shared network drive.

I would appreciate any help on this please.

Office2000 SR-1 administrative upgrade

by Gregory W. Smith In reply to Office2000 SR-1 administr ...

Absolutely. I've loaded O2K into \\server\share\Office2000\CD1 and \\server\share\Office2000\CD2 for the 2 CD-ROM installs. It does not work well to load them into the same location.

The update is available from Microsoft; there is a seperate download for each CD that must be extracted to different directories (I use C:\CDUP1, C:\CDUP2)

The command line to update O2KCD1 would be:
msiexec /a \\server\share\OFFICE2000\CD1\Data1.msi /p c:\cdup1\data1.msp shortfilenames=1

The command line to update O2KCD2 would be:
msiexec /a \\server\share\OFFICE2000\CD2\data2.msi /p c:\cdup2\Data2.msp Shortfilenames=1

Adjust the paths to fit your specific needs.
