Ok, repentance time . To make up for my “Earwig Hell” Thread-

Let me put this into your ear:

“I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin’ hands, sayin’ “How do you do?”
They’re really saying “I love you”

I hear babies cryin’, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

    Oh yeah”

I realized today, after a long, hard, sweaty day at work (don’t get any ideas, jdclyde)..I came home, and my puppy came up to greet me. He was so happy I was there! He smothered me with licks and brought all his favorite toys to my feet. As I dropped to the couch, he jumped up, and laid his head in my lap. He knew I needed some “quiet time”.

My son messaged me later, asking if I could record tomorrow’s new season of “Stargate” episodes. We talked about what we were expecting with the new seasons, yada, yada, yada… and before he hung up, he said ‘Thanks Dad. I love ya’. (Not bad for a 17 year old man-child!)

So, to make up for all those annoying, grating songs I made you all suffer thru (in the thred that would not die), Here ya go.

Oh, and if you really want something to relax to…I suggest Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole version of it

*edited to fix spelling errors. Suprised? I think not.

      You’ve redeemed yourself.

I didn’t realize that it was YOU that started that discussion.

My favorite CD to relax to is Moodswings “Mood Food” subtitled “Aural medication for tired minds” and I bet no one else here has ever heard it. Anyone who “knows” me from TR will probably be surprised that I like it if you ever you do hear it.

If you buy it, put your headphones on, crank it up and kick back for an hour or so.

      “Spiritual High”-I think so!

      What a Wonderful World

I finally broke away from the computer and spent some time listening to the Pachebel Canon. Beautiful.

I was in the Pike Street Market in Seattle at the place where they throw fish at one another with my ex after Gulf One. There is a corner there that you can look down to the third level (the fish market is on the seventh level). There was a quartet on the third level from the U. They played the Pachebel and for a moment, time stood still. We stood up there and just immersed in the music. The sounds of the market and the street beyond simply went away.

Every time I hear the Pacebel now, I remember that moment and the sense of being carried on the music.

I thought the Earwig thread was fun!

I had to just sit and read through the whole song a time or two and sing it in my head. I WANT this one to stick.

      Earwig heaven.

As I read your notes about the end of the day, I felt my shoulders relax and my body settle down comfortably into my seat. I’m still at work…it’s the middle of the day, Monday…but I’ve just had a little 60-second vacation.

      Thanks, Mick.

      The IZ version

I actually stopped a meeting with my HR manager the other day, becuase I heard the IZ version playing on the radio in the outer office. I find it haunting and beautiful. The first part of the medley, Somewhere over the rainbow, I much prefer to the original.

I first heard it about ten years ago, shortly after he died. Its since been on Finding Forrester, and ER.
