A user I support is getting an error when he tries to run Outlook 2000. The error states: ‘An OLE registration error has occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run setup again for the program’. The OS is Windows 98. Every other program inthe Office 2000 Professional suite runs fine. I have uninstalled Office(including removing the Office directory and removing Office settings in the registry). I reinstalled Office but Outlook still gets the error. I looked on Microsoft’s knowledgebase website, none of the situations listed in which the error occurred pertained to this situation. Any help is appreciated. Trying to avoid a new install of Windows and everything else on the laptop. The laptop is a Dell Latitude CPxJ with plenty of hardware and horsepower. I have already installed SR1/1a. Also, the user informs me he had upgraded to Internet Explorer 6.0 but had to roll back to his previous version of IE because he is using a program that cannot run with IE 6.0 installed. Is itpossible IE 6.0 could have screwed some file or other up? Any help is very welcome.
