onboard keyboard failure can not access bios setup

Hi TR
The onboard key board has field as a result of a viral infection. I can only use an external USB keyboard now but that will not work from dos load up.....Q is there virtual on screen
keyboard that works in a dos shell envirement
running from the cd rom that would boot up and
enable me to access the bios setup on this Laptop?

You might need to get a PS/2 to USB connector....

You can try and use a PS/2 to USB connector to see if that works with a PS/2 keyboard. Another thing that springs to mind is the "F-Lock" button. Do you have this on?. If so disable it, it just might work on your USB keyboard. :)

Answer is No there isn't anything like that available

Besides the Problem here is that you need to get into the BIOS and if that has been affected by some kind of Infection you are in Trouble.

If you are unable to enter the BIOS with the normal Keyboard before anything starts to load the System has been severely affected and the Hardware has been attacked which isn't a good sign.

However if you can use the conventional Keyboard before Windows Loads it is just a Driver Issue in Windows that is the problem. So starting in Safe Mode deleting the Keyboard Drivers and then forcing a restart should cure that as when the system restarts the Default Windows Keyboard Drivers will be loaded.
