Opening Access database in WindowsXP

By mltoigo ·

I receive this error when opening my mdb in Access only under the Windows XP OS. If I join my mdw under Workgroup Administrator, the database prompts for a logon and works fine. I can't hold the Shift key though while opening the database to bypass the startup options. How can I hold the Shift key to bypass the startup options?

Thanks!!

Open Access, the program. Go to open database ( file open or the open folder.) when you have the dialog box, only select the file, don't double click... on the open button, click the arrow to the right of it, and choose exclusive. If this works, go to the protection of the database, and see that there is no protection set. check the properties too.
