Pls get more details if possible.
What change was made after which the attachments are not seen?
What is the client using...like MS-Outlook..version..?
Check the default mail format configured at cleint.though this might not be a cure.
What do you see when the client opens the mail?
Please elaborate on the issue, to help u better

MS Exchnge 5.5 has nothing to do with opening attachments.

The e-mail client is the one that opens them.

If your using outlook and the client loaded the patches / service pack updates, some attachments may be blocked from opening.

If your client can save the attachments and then open them with the proper program, then windows may no longer be recognizing the app that opens that attachment.

That can happen is a program is loaded that takes over for those types of files and then was uninstalled. That can cause windows to not recognize the file format.

Sometimes the easiest way to fix this is to reload the program your client needs to open the attachments with.

Or you can try opening "My Computer" and going to Tools. File Types and map the file extension to the correct program.

Also you can try opening the attachment and if windows gives you the "Open With" box you can do it from there.

In the client check the security tab in the Optinos menu and make sure you have not blocked the attachments.
