Oracle 8.0.4 Client Accessing 8.1.7 DB

Hello every one!!!!!! I have a question for you.
Has any one used an 8.0.4 Oracle client to access an 8.1.7 Oracle database?

Here is the environment:

Windows 2000 platform for both client and DB server
8.0.4 client is on a web server in the DMZ

I would like to know successes, failures, adjustments that were made to make it work, etc..
