Oracle - Temp Space size question

By EndUserMike ·
I'm a 'power user'(so I'm told) of our company's Oracle data warehouse which is currently at about 1.5 TB. Not very large by today's standards. I am continually running into temp space issues when working with some large time frames (1 year). I've been told that the temp space set aside for ALL Users is 45GB. This seems awfully small to me considering the size of some of our tables. What is the rule of thumb on temp space size based on overall size of a database? Is there a way I can use SQL Plus to find out table sizes, not just row counts? I'm obviously not a DBA but would like to have a better understanding of what's going on. I'm tired of being told to use a smaller time frame when our business need is to look at a year's worth of data!!

Thanks,
Mike
