Oracle Users, Automatically Log Out For Inactivity

By rbaron ·
I have an Oracle Developer Application in the Client/Server mode. Is there a way to have the users automatically logged off after a specified time period? I wanted to do this with timers. But it is a multiple-form application. Can I have a timer specified as a global variable and reset it in the When New-Form-Instance triggers or when block changed or?????????

Yes, its possible. Create timer on when logon trigger of your MDI form (as you said its multiple form application.)
Create one WHEN-TIMER-EXPIRED trigger at form level. Pur it in object group and use that object group in you forms or keep it in existing object group which is inherited.
Create Global package level variable and check update it in WHEN-TIMER-EXPIRED. In same trigger Check whether it crosses the limit, if yes then do LOGOUT.
I hope that it will serve your purpose.
