Oulook 2000 Public Calendar Programming

by davevw . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with using an Outlook 2000/Exchange 5.5 public calendar for resource scheduling? My problem is this:

I have created the calendar and forms to run correctly but I have a problem where people can double book the equipment or rooms. I need to have code that checks the subject(all static from a droplist) and then checks to see if that equipment or room is in use and if it is, then return a message saying that it is in use and don’t let them schedule it for that time. Does anybody have any code close to this? Of does anybody have any helpful hints for me? Outlook has it built into the regular calendar that if you try to overlap appointments that it will say that This appointment confilicts with an existing appointment. This is in essence what I would like to do. Just have a message box that tells the user that the resource is in use until such and such a time.

Anyway, if you have any questions please feel free to email me and ask me.

Thanks,

Dave
