We have a couple of branch offices that use Outlook to get their email from our Exchange server. We all have DSL connections, so we just use POP3 for the remote offices to download their email. They want to be able to use the Out of Office Assistant, like the people in the main office (where the Exchange server lives) do. I’m pretty sure that isn’t possible with POP3. Is there any kind of workaround? Is there a way I can turn it on for them from the server? I assume I could log on as that user, set up outlook, turn it on, then go back and turn it off when they return, but that’s gonna be a hassle. I was hoping there was an easier way. Anybody?
We have Exchange 5.5 running on Win2k server. Clients are using Outlook 2000, set up for internet mail, connecting to our mail server. Clients in this office, of course, connect directly to the Exchange server.
