Outlook 2000 and DSL

Hello,

At my company we are testing connectivity to our network for email, using VPN and a DSL internet connection.
We are able to connect, but there is a lag in receiving email, if we simply wait they’ll eventually appear, but the weird thing is if we open an already read message the new message will pop into the mailbox. Hitting refresh (F5), or Send/Receive, MS Exchange Server, does not make any difference. We are connecting to a Exchange 5.5 server, and are not working offline.
