Outlook 2000 Glich

I have a client running Windows 2000 and Office 2000. With Outlook open to the Inbox the reply, forward and send/recieve buttons are greyed out. If you create a new message, there is no send/recieve button present in the new message box. I have had her run the “detect and repair” utility. This didn’t work. I am going to try the repair feature from the disc. If this doesn’t work, then I’ll have to delete and reload it. I would rather not have to go that route. Anybody had any experience with this kind of problem?
By the way it still automatically recieves E-mail
