I’ve been having a problem with our dial-up connection to ISP. We use an Internet router and when the first person using the Internet attempts to connect to our ISP, he/she is receiving an error message stating that a connection was not made. If the person refreshes the webpage, it opens the web page with no problem. I know that the handshake of the two modems is taking a certain time to finally connect, but the timeout of either Outlook or Internet Explorer is set to a time period that gives up after a certain period of time. I would like to extend the timeout period so that when it takes a longer time to connect, it will wait an extra 5 seconds or so. This will solve my problem. Please advise.
