Outlook 2003

By laura.day ·
Hello -

I am attempting to rename the *NK2 file, to allow my users' autocomplete function to work
(presently not functional), and I came up with
two *NK2 files on a search: both are named
LAPLNK2K, description of first file is HTML
document, description of second file is text
document. Do both of these files need to be
renamed?

Thanks.

NK2 Files Location

by Working IT In reply to Outlook 2003

The nk2 files should be located at C:\Documents and Settings\<<Username>>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

And the nk2 files should be named as <<Outlook Profile Name>>.nk2

Is LAPLNK2K one of your Outlook Profile Name?

To find out what profile name you have, go to Control Panel --> Mail --> Show Profile. It will list you the Outlook Profile Name that you current have.

Remember to close Outlook before renaming any nk2 files.

MS Outlook Profile Name

by laura.day In reply to NK2 Files Location

Hi Working IT -
The profile name is MS Exchange Settings 1.
The LAPLNK2K files, when opened, say that they are incompatible with Windows 2000/XP,
and I'm directed to Lap Links' website,
appears that the files are some sort of
net connectivity software. Do you think that
these are the correct files to rename?

Location of the File?

by Working IT In reply to MS Outlook Profile Name

LapLnk2K may not be the correct file.
