Outlook 2K and XP slowness

Has anyone run into this issue? Running XP Pro, with Office 2K. When opening a large attachment (3MB powerpoint presentation) it takes about 3 minutes. On WinNT or W2K with Office2K it take 30 – 60 seconds to open the same e-mail. Any suggestions onhow to get the XP machine to open the attachment faster?
