Outlook 2K Remaining Resident

I have a laptop that when Outlook 2K is closed, it remains active in resident memory. The only way to completely close the program is to go to the task menu and select “End Task” when Outlook is highlighted. Anyone else have this problem or know why it is failing to completely close and remove itself from memory? Any solutions?
