Outlook 98 and .pab's

By bwhite ·
I have recently upgraded to Outlook 98 from outlook 97. I have noticed that my Personal Distributions list did not come with. When I tried to import the .pab, I get a message that the Personal Address Book translators were not installed and go to Microsoft to download them. Every page that Microsoft sends me to says page no longer exists. Does anyone know where I can get the translator or how I can import the the .pab without it?

you should be able to reinsert the outlook 98 cd, and install that translator from there, it's possible that outlook 98 is no longer being supported on the microsoft site, or could try reinstalling outlook 98, make sure to select custom install, go through the list, and make sure to add that component

You didn't say what OS you are running. You can copy the .pab used in Outlook97 and paste it into the directory where Outlook98 .pab files lives. Without the OS and more info I can't tell you the path. You can create a dummy address book in Outlook98 and then search the HD using *.*pab as the filename and see where both .pab files live.
