Having a problem with Outlook 98. It is loaded with latest securty patchs and office 97 is loaded with sr-2. The machine I’m working on is running on win 98 with the latest updates.
My problem is when I’m in outlook and I go to an e-mail with alink in it. I click on the link and IE 5 trys to open the link, but the page will half way open then the whole system freezes. I can cntl + alt + del out but I get an illegal operation error message that tells me there was a error in address 000XXX : 000eb (what ever). I get the same error every time with the same address.
Here’s the catch. Some times it works and some times I get the error. So far I have ran every update I can think of. Upgraded to IE 6, looked for more updates, ran norton utlitles on it, ran a virus scan on the whole system with the latest updates, and I searched the microsoft knowledge bas and got nothing.
I am still getting the same error. I’m stumped. If anyone can give me any suggestions at all it wouldgreatly appreciated.
And no It doesn’t happen when I’m just browsing around in IE.
There is also an outlook 98 security patch installed. I’m not sure if that would affect it?
Thanks for suggestions.
