Outlook attachments sent as winmail.dat

I have a client that has word and excel files change to winmail.dat files when sent attached to an email using outlook.

This consistently happens when sending files to specific reciepents only. When sending the same files from another clients pcthe attachement is received correctly as a word or excel file.
