Outlook attachments

By Steve ·
Everytime a user tries to open an attachment on an email the security box pops up saying do you want to open the attachment or save it to disk(which is fine), but when you try and open it the system32 file opens instead. When you try and save it to disk an error message pops up saying the path is valid. Anyone got any ideas??

A bit more info is needed here.

Is this on a Network?

Is there a Domain Controller with AD involved?

If this is just a stand alone computer run both AV & Spy Ware utilities over it in Safe Mode to make sure that it's clean and then try something like System Mechanic to check the registry for errors. you can get a 30 day trial version at

If none of that works then you can remove Outlook and reinstall it to cure your problem.

It is on a network, but its just happening on 1 users profiles. All the other profile are fine!! Its just one which this happens on. I think i'll just re install it and run both AV and spyware just incase! Thank you so much for your help!! its much appreciated!!
