Outlook compared to Outlook Express

By randerson ·
User decided to allow Outlook to be default email carrier and tech took necessary steps to do so. This worked for a short while, then reverted to Outlook Express as mail default. How can she be sure that the settings will remain, short of removing Outlook Express. She is running windows 2000.

Outlook compared to Outlook Express

When it asks if you want outlook to be your default email service, you would answer yes (or if that no longer comes up, go to tools, internet options, programs and change it to the correct email server). Then, when she opens up outlook express and it says "outlook express is not currently your default email service. would you like to make outlook express your default email service?" you answer no and make sure the box that asks to show that box each time you login isn't set to pop up each time.

Simple.

Set Outlook back as the default e-mail.

Then remove the outlook express shortcuts from the desktop and the start menu.

This does not uninstall outlook express.
