outlook express and junk mail

is there a way in outlook express to filter junk mail? i know you can or think you can in microsoft outlook but need to know about outlook express… if so how..thanks

not without 3rd party product. most people get by with what spam filter is provide by their isp.
you can download shareware spam filters or fork out $40 or so for zonealarm pro with firewall, spam filters and adware filters…norton internet security is similar product

My junk mail filter in outlook express uses the message rules. I create a rule where the from line contains people. The rule description then has a link to enter the people. The select people dialog has a button for Address Book. I select everyone in the address book. The option in the select dialog allow you to change to Does NOT contain. Then I either delete the message or move it to a folder to delete.

Result: Email from anyone not in your address is filtered.

Notice that your address is a hotmail account. Hotmail has a fairly effective junk mail filter but you have to set it up on the hotmail site. Additionally, hotmail accounts in OE sync with the hotmail server and I would think local filters would not work.

If it is another e-mail account, then above are accurate.
