Outlook express as IMAP client.

If I have outlook express as an IMAP client. Dose anyone know how to move deleted items to the trash folder. By default the trash folder is hidden. I went to IMAP folders under tools to have it show up. But when I delete the messages it puts a slash through the mail. I would like it to be moved to the trash. I tried to make a rule but the rules do not apply to IMAP.
