Outlook Express hangup

By gemailhiot ·
I have 2 computers networked together. Both are running Windows 98SE, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 6, updated to the max.
On OE 6, on some e-mail messages, trying to print the message results in a "Not responding" condition on the task. The printer dialog window does not even appear.
Internet connection is through a Cable modem.
I am not yet certain that the problem relates to messages sent from corporate mail servers, but I strongly suspect that most of the problem ones are such.

Any suggestion?

I know that this will sound like a strange suggestion, but the first thing to do is check for an updated video driver.

If the driver for your video card is old, and does NOT support DirectX 9, you can have problems with both IE 6 and OE 6.

If you cannot get a newer video driver, you may need to either get a newer video card, or drop back to IE 5.5 SP2.

Next, how much RAM and free hard drive space?

You don't want more than 511MB of RAM on a W98 system.

You also want to have a minimum of 500MB of free hard drive space.
