outlook file too big?

my outlook .pst file became corrupted so I ran the inbox repair against it. Now I cannot open outlook – the program reports that there are not enough resources to open the file – with everything closed down, nothing in the system tray, etc. Explorer claims it is 16 megs big.

any hints?
