Outlook freezes when attaching a file?

User running Outlook 2000 on XP Pro. When she tries to attach a file to an email, the ‘browse’ window pops up to select the file, and freezes. Cannot navigate through it, cancel it, anything. Have to ‘end task’ and shut down Outlook. Any idea what might be causing this? I have tried the ‘repair’ reinstall, no difference.
