Outlook / Mouse problem

By ian ·
I have a client who occasionally (once or twice a day) will be in outlook and the mouse will not double click to open a new message that was recieved. If you click once it is highlighted, and if you press enter you can read it, but double-click doesnada.
Closing outlook and reopening does not help.
Double click works fine in other programs (Word etc).
Reboot PC restores mouse double click in Outlook.
Any Ideas ??

Two ideas..

First, remove and reset the users profile, sometimes this could become corrupted, and will fix several types of problems.
Failing that, you might benefit from doing a reinstall of Outlook to correct any corrupted dlls and settings.

Thanks Frankbert - I'll give them both a shot and post progress.

Hi Mike,
OS is Win98 2 Ed.
64 Mb RAM
Have tried 2 different mice, Logitech trackball, now MS Optical.
Typical programs running are MS Word, Quickbooks, Scotland Yard, Custom apps. (there are many other pc's running exactly the same app suites without a problem.)
