Outlook/Network Password Issue

By a_tank ·
I have 2 users who have recently started getting the same problem. They log on to our network just fine, but then, when they try to open Oulook (2000), they are prompted to once again to enter there password. After they enter there password, they get a "credentials conflict" error, and are locked out, and I have to unlock them. I have never set up any such feature, and I can find no documentation on how to disable this. Any help wpuld be greatly appreciated.

You must make sure your password in outlook has the same password as your mail software on your server. If doing this does not solve it remove your internet mail account and re add it. If this does not work re-install outlook.

This is a continuation of the last post for this question:

Sometimes having 2 email accounts on one outlook program can cause this error. Just make sure you dont have 2 there. You can goto TOOLS>ACCOUNTS to find this info.

It's locking your accounts because it is trying to use a cached password (probably not the right one). I agree with answer 2, but you also need to check the users machines. Go into their PCs and delete the user password file. it has either been corrupted or has other passwords in it that it is caching. Go to Find, Files and Folders and key in *.pwl(on local hard drive). Once you find the password file associated with the user delete it. The only passwords that your are relly affecting is the windows passwords(the others are stored on the server). Next reboot, windows will recreate this file (you will be prompted to confirm your windows password).

Pls check few thing :

1. Check the setting in email server whether their mailbox is set to only can logon thru certain workstation. If yes, then add in their workstation ID which they wish to access their mail. Or just let them can login to all workstation(Not advisable for mail server security).

2. Try to shutdown the PC. Then start PC and try again whether the problem solve.

Hope the first solution can help u solve ur problem.
