Outlook new mail format options grayed out

I am using MS 365 for business premium.
All of a sudden all of my text format options (font type, size etc. are grayed out when composing a new email despite the fact that html is selected as the format. This is the case when working on or offline. The mail option is set to HTMl and the format in the ribbon states HTML.
Is anyone else experiencing this and/or what can I do about it?

My suggestion would be to reach out to Microsoft support next.

Thanks for responding. I have been using Outlook for years and suddenly ran into the problem for the first time.
It seemed to stop happening. On checking it does, as mentioned in another answer, now only happen if I am in the subject. Not sure why it has not happened over the years….surely I was in the subject field over the years and did not notice it. I did change the version I was using. No matter, problem resolved.

But it’s strange that it happens “all of a sudden”. Did you happen to switch to another mail server? Did you contact your e-mail provider if they changed something?

If no luck, try a repair, as told in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b . However, first I would try – as an experiment – if it works correctly in a new (local) Windows account in your PC/laptop.
