Outlook not working after installing blaster fix

By kaepayne ·
has anyone else had this happen? After installing the blaster fix on NT machines with sp4 and Win2000 with sp4, Outlook has to be reinstalled. Also, we're having random problems with other Office apps no longer working. Any suggestions?

Your software would work.
Obviously, you haven't delected and reinsatlled all infected files. Look again.

I'm not drunk, I just mash the keys that way. : -)

I found a lot of infected files from the BLaster on a clients machine. Almost nothing ran right until all traces and infected files were deleted and replaced.

We found that most of the problems (we don't use Exchange junk or outlook trash) - but other applications ran like a 2 legged dog (a lote of dragging going on) ...

Until we applied SP6 ... of course after we pushed SP5 -

SORRY, not on NT4, just on Win2000

thanks for the comments, keep them coming! We are finding that SOME of the machines are getting reinfected before we get them cleaned. We DO use exchange junk and outlook trash! So, our NT machines already have SP6, Win200 have SP4 and it's ONLY our Win200 machines that are having the problems.

we got hit the other day giving messages that text editor for word wasnt a valid copy in all version of Microsoft programs on our machines. The reason is, it stopped the RPC s request procedure calls in win2k. we had to goto mmc or rt. click my puter/manage/services find remote procedure calls and notice that the status isnt on auto. All you have to do is click the start button at top of screen and reboot. Once back up all programs will run perfectly. Give this a try and it will work.
