Outlook: printing inserted pics in msgs.

By Cemetery Mike ·
I recently made the switch to Outlook from Outlook Express. I use Windows XP. After inserting a pic into the body of a message (and having that pic be fully visible on my screen in the message body) I am unable to have that pic print within the body of that message when accessing it - after sending - from the SENT MESSAGES folder. It is simply showing up as a dreaded red 'x' in a white box. I've tried clicking the "print attached items with files" and "memo style" as well.

This is an important feature in our operation, and I need to find a remedy for this problem. In advance, any and all help much appreciated.

Is the image inserted into the mail?

Otherwise it isn't going to show anything other than a red X.

Yes, the image is inserted into the mail. It was a jpg. I sent it out, no problem, withe the image fully visible after using "insert pic" feature. When opening in the "sent messages" - the pic is still there in the body of the message. But when I print? The white box/red x, and that's it.

If you are using Outlook 2003, go to Tools, Options, Security tab, and click on Change Automatic Download Settings... button. Uncheck, Don't download pictures or other content...

Hope that helps!

Nope, still not working (and I tried shutting down the program and relaunching with these new settings as well). Still getting the white box/red 'x' . . . sigh . . .

a long shot.. but might work...

maybe while printing outlook considers that picture as an attachment...

make sure that "print attachments" button is checked in the print preferences and try printing.

who knows... might work!
