Outlook Problems

I’m having problems trying to open Outlook 2000. Every time I attempt to open Outlook, it shows the ‘Outlook 2000’ start up screen and then disappears. I’ve: completely removed and reinstalled it; repaired it; installed Outlook 97 and then upgraded to Outlook 2000 — however, none of these things work. I can only open Outlook 97. Has anybody got any ideas how I can get Outlook 2000 to open? The operating system on the machine is Windows XP Pro.
