Outlook security update

I recently applied a security update to my Outlook 2000. Now I’m not able to receive certain file types like exe, mdb, scr, etc.
How do I turn this security feature off or is their someway I can edit my registry to enable me to receive these and more of the file types that I use to be able to receive and open.
