Outlook: Shared Calendars

By tk421 ·
This may be a stupid question, but:
Can you setup shared calendars in Outlook if it's just standalone (no Exchange server)? We have users on the network who just use the basic Internet-configured Outlook 2000, and would like to share calendars.

you can run "Net Folders", but it is not installed by default. You will have to add it. Also - you need to be able to send email - each user(machine) has a unique email address, since the entries are emailed from one to the other.

One machine will share its folder (eg calendar) and then "invite" the other machines. Based upon the permissions you set the other machines can read or modify the items in the shared folder.

There are a couple of MS KB articles you can check -search for NetFolders, also check out slipstick.com
