Outlook "suddenly" cannot see contact list

By portable ·
Outlookstarted giving the following message:
"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated with this list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove this folder..."
My problem is that I can see/edit/copy in the Contacts folder just fine. It appears that only e-mail cannot see it (as for permissions I am Administrator). I could delete it, but I would hate to have to type in everything all over.

Any ideas or "pointers" to a solution would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

I might sound silly for asking this, but have you tried removing and recreating your e-mail profile. I am assuming you are using Outlook Address and not a Personal Address Book (PAB). If you are using a PAB you must save it (export it) before removing your profile.

Not a silly question, and yes I did, and no it didn't help.

I had the same problem and the instructions from this site http://www.york.ac.uk/services/cserv/help/mail/access/outlook/address/lostaddressbook.htm solved it. I hope this helps.
