Outlook task folder views

By estvb ·
I have Office XP Pro and use outlook to keep track of my schedule for classes and such. I also have a tasks folder where I put all my assignments. I've setup the custom view so that the assignments are grouped by due date in ascending order. I also set up the automatic formatting with two new rules. The first greys out anything due 8+ days from whatever today is. The rule is "Due date is on or after 8 days". The second one I can't get to work. I want it to bold any assignments due in three days. I put "Due date is on or before 3 days". That works but when I go back into the rule "3 days" has changed to the actual date three days from whenever I created the rule. That means that after a day that rule doesn't do want it was meant to.

How can I make it stay as "3 days" instead of it switching to the actual date?

Thanks.

wow. sounds like a bug. have you tried updating to latest office service pack?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it has all the latest updates and service packs. I just upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP (I should have probably mentioned that) a couple of days ago and immediately went to the windows update and office update websites.

I hope it's not a bug. I've guessed that maybe the one rule that does work was left over from Office 2000, but the problem is that I don't remember when I created it. I've only recently been messing around with that stuff and only recently upgraded.

I just realized this was still open and hasn't gotten any response in a couple of months. The problem is still there and I believe I emailed Microsoft about it and got a response that said it was "by design" (aka a bug). Anyway, I'm closing this now.
