Outlook Web Access (OWA) Write permissions

by techrepublic.patgourmet . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Hi,

I am struggling to give write access to a user to another user’s calendar. It works in Outlook, but not in OWA. In OWA, the effective permissions are only Read: creating ot modifying calendar items does not work. I tried several ways and non of them work.

I know of 3 ways to give permissions to another user:

1- In AD Users and Computers, in the Exchange Advanced tab, go into Mailbox Rights and add the user with the permission “Full mailbox access”.

2- In Outlook, delegate via Tools-Options-Delegates.

3- In Outlook, give permissions directly on the folder by right-clicking the folder in Outlook and going into the Permissions tab.

I tried all these 3 ways, and they all effectively lead to Write access when using Outlook to open the other user’s calendar, but none of them works when using OWA: all I get via OWA is Read Access (the “Save and CLose” button is grayed out, and I cannot create a new appointment).

I need advice.

Thank you.
