Outlook XP Contacts

By qb4006 ·
I am using Outlook XP and I noticed that when I try to create a new email from a contact that has more than 3 phone numbers ie, phone, fax, mobile etc. The name of the contact will be listed more than once in the list. For example If I create a new message to send to "John" and he has 3 phone numbers. John will be listed more than once in the contackts list.

That is not unusual. Search for the *.NK2 file and either delete it or rename it to *.bak file. Your contact "send to" list will be re-built as you send out items.

Either the above (and every so often clearing out the nk2 file), or here's another alternative:

1) Start Outlook.
2) On the Tools menu, click Address Book.
3) In the Address Book dialog box, click Options on the Tools menu.
4) Change "Keep personal addresses in" to "Personal Address Book.
5) Under Keep personal addresses in, click Personal Address Book.
