Outlook.exe has generated errors

By jsarinana ·
Outlook.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
I have a user that when she is in her Inbox and uses her To: and types a W in "Type name or select from list" within her Contacts she crashes and gets this error. Running Outlook 2000 all patces installed. Tried "Detect & Repair, tried re-install from AdD & Remove Programs. Still getting error. This only happens when using the letter "W". Anti Virus is up to date and computer has been scanned for viruses. Any suggestions ?

Try removing the profile then re-add it.

Thanks cmeisinger@dascon.com,
I tried removing the profile already it did not work. What I found is that she has a personnel.pst folder open as well as a mailbox. I also found out that she deleted that .pst file which did live in here C drive at one time. I went into that open personnel folder in Outlook and was able to empty a Contacts folder that was in there. Now her Contacts works fine. Except for one this I cannot close this personnel.pst file in her outlook, when I try it gives me a cannot find error. Any suggestions how to get rid f this .pst folder would be apricaited

If you're running Windows 2k open the users folder under Documents and Settings. Follow this path: Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. This folder holds the pst files. Before doing this make sure that Outlook is closed. I would suggest moving the file out of this folder first, then opening Outlook to make sure things are in order. If ok, then delete the file, otherwise you can put it back. Hope this helps.
