Overheating and Battery Drainage Issues in Intel Evo Laptop – Need Advice!

    by nikitasingh28673 ·

    Hey everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. I’m reaching out to seek some guidance regarding two persistent issues I’ve been experiencing with my Intel Evo laptop. After three years of purchase, I’m facing overheating and battery drainage problems, and I’m looking for advice on how to address them effectively.
11th generation Intel Core processor 8 GB ram and 1TB SSD Nvdia graphic card is inside so, If anyone has successfully resolved these issues or has any recommendations specific to Intel Evo laptops, I would be grateful for your assistance. Any advice on troubleshooting steps, software optimizations, or potential hardware fixes would be highly appreciated.

There can be several causes for this.

It’s possible that some program is overusing the CPU or GPU. For example, you have been hacked and somebody uses your laptop to make bitcoins or seaching for extraterrestial life. Or any other form of malware.
The percentage of CPU and GPU use should be near zero if all you do yourself is running task manager and looking at it.

Overheating can be caused by malfunctioning fans or too old heat paste around the CPU or GPU.

Battery drainage is normal for old batteries. They aren’t made for eternal use.

Firstly, check for any programs or processes that may be overusing the CPU or GPU. Malware or unwanted applications could be causing excessive heat generation and battery drain. Use reliable antivirus software to scan your system and ensure it’s clean.

Next, consider checking the functionality of your laptop’s fans. Malfunctioning fans can lead to inadequate cooling and overheating. Cleaning them or getting them replaced by a professional might help resolve the issue.

Additionally, the thermal paste around the CPU or GPU could have degraded over time. Reapplying thermal paste can improve heat dissipation and reduce overheating problems. It’s advisable to seek assistance from a professional technician for this task.
