OWA and security

I have a SBS 2000 server and use the Exchange portion of it. I want to know how to make OWA availible from the WAN side of the network while keeping it secure. Is there a secure way of doing this. I use A Sonicwall SOHO firewall. Opening the HTTP port 80 would leave a big security hole. Any help is appreciated. Thank You.
