OWA Performance

By hmancini ·
Dear All,

My users are UNSATISFIED with response time of Owa. For example, one user waits 1 min 30 secs to show his/her mailbox completely (the inbox with 30 emails).

I want to know if this delay is normal.

I have Exchange 2000 and serverdual PIII, Ram 1 GB, Hds 18 GB Raid 5.

The user establishes Dial-up connetion by Gric (Isp), after validates within Lan (digital certificated and login/passw). After run IE5 with OS W2000.

I?d appreciate your comments on it.

Hugo, You sort of answered your own question.

When using OWA, you are essentially accessing a website. This user is accessing a website over a dial-up connection (that should tell you part of the problem)! Does this user get vastly faster response when accessing other websites? This user will not get into OWA any faster than other websites.

While this does not mean that other problems don't exist with OWA, using this particular user as a primary example would not give me any indication of OWA problems. The Internet is SLOW when accessed via dial-up - plain and simple.
